M
Markup
This is the amount/percentage added on top of temporary work’s pay to cover the administration costs of the agency/solutions provider. They can vary even within a single supplier.
Master vendor
An MSP where the provider and its sister companies have the first opportunity to recommend and place candidates or resources. Sometimes referred to as “tier zero”. Roles the provider cannot fill are sent to other staffing suppliers. The presumed advantage of this approach is volume pricing discounts and a better understanding of the client’s needs. Read more about the master vendor model.
Milestone/Deliverable
Where a vendor is engaged and rewarded only on completion and delivery of a specified piece of work rather than for time worked. Commonly found in services procurement or SOW projects.
MSP – Managed Service Programme
The management of the sourcing, engagement and administration of temporary and other ‘non- permanent’ or ‘non-employee’ resources and tasks by an external provider. Learn more about our MSP offering.
