Payrolling
As it relates to contingent staffing, payrolling is the provision of (usually) longer-term temporary workers to a customer where the workers have been recruited (possibly interviewed, tested and approved) by the customer. In this case, the workers become, in effect, employees of the supplier providing the payroll services.
PMO - Project/Programme Management Office
This is a group or department that defines and maintains standards for project management. The PMO strives to standardise and introduce economies of repetition in the execution of projects, for example handling the day to day interactions between staffing suppliers and contingent resources.
PSL - Preferred Supplier List
A rationalised supply chain of approved suppliers, sometimes tiered with a primary supplier, reducing the total number of suppliers utilised.
